We haven't had it very long, but it seems to work really well & it looks great on our counter. The inside is pretty dark, so a little harder to see any splashes or spills.

This replaced a GE 1.8 Sensor Microwave we had for 17 years as we are changing appliances color from white to slate with our kitchen remodel. There was nothing wrong with our old one- we loved it-except it is white. But this new GE microwave has the same features (except you can't turn the turntable rotation off), and it is huge inside- the turntable is 16"...almost 2" larger than our old GE. But the best thing is how absolutely quiet it is when it is cooking! Yes, $400 is a lot for a microwave...but we use ours more than the range oven. We hope to get at least another 17 years out of this one. Glad we bought it and highly recommend!

First of all, this is my second one, which I have made past the 2 week point so here's hoping.
My first one didn't even make 2 weeks
This microwave is 1100 watts which is hotter than any other microwave I have ever owed. My favorite being my first original GE from 1999. It was 1000 watts, but stayed with my first house when we sold.
1100 watts is more than likely nice if u cook in your appliance, mostly I don't. I find on defrost my stick of butter fresh from fridge is melted by 15 seconds.
My babies bottles ( yes I know your aren't supposed to use a microwave to warm their milk) was hot and had to be thrown out in less than 30 seconds so definitely I need to get used to the higher watts.
The appliances is dark like others stated. Wish the panel by the numbers would light up.
I do love the looks of it. Looks beautiful in my kitchen and very high quality.
GE was good to work with, as well as Lowe's, but do I just love this appliance, bottom line, no.

This microwave isn't only eye-catching, but it's very powerful. Lots of other microwaves may look a bit more modern, but in my experience, I've had to re-heat my food twice! Doesn't happen with this microwave.

I am happy with this microwave, however, the cost was a bit much. I purchased basically the same one 16 years ago and it just went out so I know this unit quite well. I did change colors and other than a few changes in the button arrangement it is still the same unit. We use the microwave quite a bit and it has been working just fine. It is a bit quieter than the old unit as well.
I would certainly recommend this unit.

Microwave is large enough to do anything we have tried and is simple to use. If used with the frame to make it look built in, that is a bit difficult to install and if going in a new kitchen make sure to give those measurements to your designer. I had to do some alterations to the frame to make it work.

We moved into our home where there was no microwave over the stove, like we're used to. We liked that look so decided we needed the countertop version since we cannot live without a microwave! We wanted to match the rest of the appliances so had to special order this microwave. Bought this in a GE package for a new home build. After 1.5 years it stopped heating. Lights come on, turntable turns, blows, but doesn't heat. And of course there is only a one year warranty.

From reheating to defrosting, this microwave has worked as well if not better than other brands we've owned. Does take some practice to find the sweet spot for cooking microwave popcorn. Love the overall performance of this product.

This GE Slate Microwave was the last item needed for my kitchen overhaul and I am glad I went with this model! This is a significant counter-top version which accommodates large portions and cooks evenly. Unit was packaged well, arrived without any dings or scratches, and easily rates a 4 star. At this price point I wish for 2 things in order to rate as a 5 star product. First, would be wonderful to have white LED backlit buttons in order to operate easily in a dim room and for aging eyes. Second, the door doesn't align perfectly with the frame; however, most people won't notice nor care - but, I can be picky when I am paying 3X more for this unit compared to my previous GE unit. Overall, it's a welcomed addition which completes my new GE Slate Appliance kitchen.

Bought this microwave and within a week the door would not open properly, I had GE profile appliances for 15 years and they worked fine. I decided to guy all GE Profile when we gutted the kitchen. I am disappointed in the Microwave, the dishwasher (does not clean as good as the one we had for 15 years.) the fridge (had to order parts for it TWICE and have them installed.) The oven? Does not heat up as fast as our 15 year old one. Stove top? Scratched up. The appliances look nice tho. Lipstick on a pig. Just lipstick on a pig. NEVER GE AGAIN.

This unit is huge! Contractor had problems fitting into cabinet. No trim kit available so contractor installed trim to finish off.
Face plate controls are difficult to engage. unit doesn't always do what it's supposed to do? Might be pilot error, no book provided with oven?

very happy with this microwave as well as with the delivery team. love, love, love the slate finish. Only challenge is the logo 'bug' on the front is not consistent with my other GE Profile Series appliances. Need consistency in your logo branding so that there is uniformity in the appliances.
