Our first GE microwave lasted 21 years...so, if this one makes half that we will be happy. We use a microwave every meal...and oftentimes between meals heating up coffee or tea...of some sort of snack. We were without a microwave for about a week after the first one died...and what a disaster. We didn't know how to do anything without the microwave.

I bought this in 2019 janury. this stope working twice. I exchange it from store. The second one died after few month. switch got bed first then it stop warming the food. I just going to toss it.

This product is neither an adequate microwave or convection oven. Controls are unbelievably irrational and learning how to use this has been a pain. I would send it back if I could

Its a compact microwave. As for the extra bells & whistles (convection, broiling, warming) I've tried broiling and warming. Both are so so.

Our last GE microwave had a good life of 20 years and this new & modern microwave has exceeded our expectations. It looks great and is easy to use. This is our first convection microwave and it works great. Highly recommend this product.

This replaced a 19 year old microwave of the same model which was a workhorse. About 9 years ago we replaced the thermostat in it but other than that it was problem-free. Decided that having the convection feature was worth the extra money.

There is no longer a "reheat" function or the ability to defrost by time vs weight. I miss these functions. Broiler function is a great addition as is recessed turntable. I also miss the dial on the previous model. It was very handy and user friendly.

The new 9159 takes the place of the old 1590 now out of production, which in my humble opinion was a better machine. The new one isn't "vented" I'm told by the customer support people so the glass window fogs up to such an extent to be worthless as to seeing the food inside the unit. I'm told to just leave the door open after cooking to let the moisture evaporate, so that the condensation drips on the floor. Yeah, I wipe it down first. What kind of engineer designed this thing? These problems where not encountered with the predecessor 1595. The famed sensor cooking function, hasn't lived up to the published use recommendation. Have the quality control people tried to cook a potato using the sensor system? Perhaps my machine is a lemon, but customer service won't acknowledge that for a service call. I bought the unit because it was the only GE able to fit into the built in space and my previous experiences with GE products had been satisfactory or better. Next time I'll try another brand.

This is a convection microwave oven that has a broiler heating element on the top. Never seen one with that feature, great idea! For the price I felt the keypad should be a bit better quality. Closing the door is quite loud if you are trying not to wake anyone sleeping nearby. All in all good unit & would recommend.

We HATE THIS "microwave oven". It does everything we never wanted, Broiling,
Convection Oven, baking oven. We can't even defrost a frozen muffin, heat up refrigerated foods. WE DIDN'T ORDER A CONVECTION OVEN. WE HAVE A NEW GE WALL OVEN. SO DISAPPOINTED. THE DEALER SHOULD HAVE TOLD US WHAT WE WERE GOING TO GET. We wanted a new MICROWAVE to replace the 24-year old model of the same microwave. What we got is a ridiculous combination of useless features. We are 83 years old and don't care to learn how to use this complicated ($911.00) piece of equipment.
PLEASE RESPOND!! We have a 24-year old GE Profile ceramic top range, just replaced a 32-year old GE refrigerator. WHAT KIND OF A TRICK IS THIS NEW

This has been a "can't live without" appliance. We use the microwave feature many times every day. We rely on the convection oven feature for preparing small roasts and casseroles several times a week. Our Profile Microwave has served us very well..

I purchased this to replace a 25yo sharp convection oven. With the 30" trim kit, it matches our new GE built in oven perfectly. So far it has cooked everything quickly and browned it as well. No more heating up the house to cook a couple of baked potatoes. My wife threw them in the new oven and they were done on the inside and crispy on the outside in just minutes, not an hour like the full size oven. They are a bit pricey, but if it lasts anywhere near the one it replaced, it will be well worth it.
