Not real happy with this product. It does Not mash down very far & the one we had for 25 years had a button to keep it mashed & let it come up again

We bought this to replace a 30+ year old compacter that we could not repair. Works and runs great. Only wish is that it came with a handle for the door. I would recommend this product.

We've owned two compactors that were by a different brand. They lasted for years. This GE has broken down twice and we have owned it for less that 4 months.

I think Global Warming is a hoax but I know we do more for the environment than 100 Leonardo DiCaprios or 100 John Kerrys by using our GE Compactor. When our first one finally bit the dust after 18 years, we couldn't get another one for 3 months due to Covid. During that time, we were setting out 4-5 bags of trash per week. With our GE Compactor, we only bring one bag of trash to the dump each week at most. Love the new design with controls on the inside and pulling up on the foot pedal to compact. One feature request, wish you would add a velcro attached disposable paper/plastic protector to the top compressor plate to help keep it clean from yucky trash. I'm doing that myself now.

Love our new compactor!! We have had a compactor for over 20 years, when our old one gave out!! I was in a panic, worried I would not be able to replace it. Fortunately, we found / ordered/ and had installed this GE model! Love it, easier to use and quiet. Thank you GE!!

It does what it is supposed to do compact trash. We purchased this unit to replace an older one. The one negative is that it is a lot louder than the GE Profile compactor we replaced.
