I got this oven to replace me original GE that was built into my home in 1985. It was a workhorse and I called GE and they recommended this as the replacement. I had it installed and GE offered to pay any extra fit charges. The slate looks great! The knob to choose settings is easy to use. The oven is spacious. Overall, my family thinks its great!

Replaced the one that was installed 36 years ago. Very modern and updated - exact same dimensions as my old GE dual oven so it fit my cabinet space without having to alter anything.

I like many things about this Microwave/Oven combination. However, I first noticed that the microwave oven took much longer to heat than my previous oven, as other's have noted. This GE microwave's spec is 1000 W (IEC-705).,where IEC-705 specifies the test to measure the oven wattage. So, I measured the wattage using the test procedure (heat 1 liter of water for 2 minutes and measure the temperature change). 700 Watts! Shame on you, General Electric!

What we liked: We think overall we will really enjoy the features offered by this unit as we get used to it.
What we didn't like: It replaces a 10yr-old built-in wall unit that required a new $400 circuit board for the oven unit, and a microwave unit that would also need replacement soon (which cannot be replaced separately because the oven & microwave are integral to the entire unit). We could not find a GE 27' wide unit in black (our kitchen color scheme). The only colors offered were Slate & Stainless Steel. Fortunately, the Slate color looks nicely compatible within the black color scheme. We didn't like a microwave dialogue notice that indicated one could not engage the microwave for cooking without putting something into the microwave to be cooked, EVEN THOUGH we had added a bowl of water earlier to be heated. Apparently, there is a timer that times out and engages this warning. Then one has to open the microwave door and then close it right away before starting it. Now I will wait to put it in until just before I heat it.
The only 27" GE oven/microwave unit we found had a convection oven AND a convection microwave (which we didn't feel we needed). As a result, we had to pay much more than we wanted/needed in order to replace the previous unit. We could afford it, but I wish there were more options available to select.

we purchased this unit from Hawthorne in Royal Oak, Mi in 2019 and had it serviced approximately 5-7 times due to the microwave rattling during use. when we first got the unit home and opened the box, there were scratches along the side of the unit so a new front had to be ordered. We purchased a stove, microwave/oven combo, and dishwasher. GE agreed to replace the unit and the first replacement came with a scratch across the front. The 2nd replacement came with a crushed front panel. I had been requesting a refund for months until finally GE agreed to refund us for the unit.

Replaced a double over from 1996
Love the convection feature on the oven and the microwave great alternative to double ovens.
Favorite feature is the cooking probe on the main over. Didn't even realize it had one when we purchased. Takes the guess work out of cooking roast and large chop cuts of meat.

The combination of convection microwave and convection ovens is working very well in my kitchen. The microwave modes seem well thought out and a 30-second quick mode is really useful. The oven so far seems right on. I baked the Thanksgiving turkey with the probe and it seemed a little underdone. Next time I'll try moving the probe or raising the set temperature. The convection microwave worked well as a second oven. Other baked items have turned out well.

I cook almost all of the meals for my family, and I've had this oven for 5 months. I have used every feature including baking in the top oven (which I love). Every feature has worked as expected. The controls are easy to understand. The only downsides are:
(1) storing the rack for the top oven; it does not fold up.
(2) the longer than normal warm up time for the lower oven, but with a small adjustment on my part that was easy to overcome.
I would buy this oven again.

Replaced an ancient oven win little more than on/off and temperature controls. The controls take a while to figure out but are not that difficult. They seem to allow any possible scenario for cooking. It holds temperature very well. As others have noted, it takes a while to preheat but is not a deal breaker. Ver y happy overall.

Great looking product, but previous version MUCH better. I have tried EVERY micro function, yet this model does not outperform the previous version in any way, shape or form. Auto functions, as for popcorn, not great. I have tried all sorts of adjustments, but plate/tray scorching hot, food not even warm!! Micro good size, but too deep for the door that drops down and blocks you from reaching/cleaning the inside, especially the back and top of interior. I am 5'9" tall and do NOT have short arms! When you reach in far, you WILL BE BURNED BY THE SUPER HOT recessed halogen bulb, even if the door is only open a second! REALLY poor design with light in front upper right corner, where the MAJORITY of right-handed people will reach in. THEN, to add insult to injury, the door has two large latches, one on each side, that catch sleeves, etc. as you remove hot? food. Incredibly poor engineering, and design. DOES NO ONE ever try this stuff at GE??? The glass tray slides off the roller at a slightest touch too, constantly re-centering. The oven is not much better. Again, good size compared to the replacement, nice rolling shelves, good lighting. Door stained and cloudy glass already from cooking, and I don't do that much of it. The main problem in the SLOW!!!!! heating of the oven. I used to make brownie batter, etc., then put my old oven on. CAN'T do that, it takes FOREVER to heat up, go ahead, try it!! I thought there might be an issue, so I called GE and they said since the element is sealed/hidden, heating takes longer. It should NEVER take this long. My husband and son also noticed the way both ovens work. Convection feature makes VERY little difference in cooking time...no need to adjust recipes at all. Cookies done a minute sooner, maybe. Very disappointed in this very expensive combo.

In my kitchen remodel I need both a double oven and microwave which one get's with this product. The microwave performs as both a microwave and a convection oven along with the attached oven which is also convection. This unit saves space, fully featured and gives the best of both worlds.

Did a self-clean cycle on it, and an error message came up, taking about the cooling fan. Couldn't turn it off. Light started flashing. Now it won't heat at all.

This is my second GE Profile Series Wall oven/microwave combo. Last one was purchased in 1999. GE has a great track record! Anyway, the microwave in this unit can also be used to bake or convection bake...so for those of us who dont have the wall space for two large ovens, this is an ideal unit! Also, the new unit was a perfect fit in the previous cut-out - no modifications were necessary. Very smart foresight on GE's part. I'm absolutely thrilled with this product.
