Where's the stainless steel?

I purchased this microwave online and ordered the stainless steel model, when it arrived only the front was clad in stainless and the rest of the cabinet was black.

Right out of the box, this microwave is easy to figure out and use. Has great quick start features. Its still bulky for a countertop but we keep ours in the pantry anyway. Stainless is also hard to keep clean from fingertips but overall, the pros weigh out the cons. I would definitely recommend this microwave if you're looking for simple and functional.

Love the 1 touch quick start, and it's pretty quiet in comparison to my old counter top microwave. We went with this because it's going in a microwave cabinet as opposed to over the oven in which we installed a range hood. Does everything we need it and works great.

I have always purchased GE appliances. During the virus my old GE needed to be replaced and there wasn't 1 GE microwave around. So I bought a small off brand one only 1.cu. I hate it. Just went out today and found a GE 1.6 I am so happy with it. Black with stainless steel design. Has a light I am thrilled. Looks beautiful on my shelf.

This microwave heats up food so much quicker than any other unit we have owned in the past. There are many great features such as the preset and automatic heating options that make it very convenient.

Really wanted this microwave since it wasn't as deep as others and fit on my shelf. But out of the box, the fan didn't work so we returned it. There are no more available so we couldn't even exchange it.

The more crowave itself works fine but I find myself getting irritated with almost every use. The labels are small and too close together. I often end up pressing timer or pause and then have to start all over again. Clearly, this feature could have used more usability testing.

So far we have only used this for a day, but, we have used it for the most types of things we would normally use it for. Operation is simple and has all the features we want. That being said, I wish the inside light was a little brighter and the touch pad is hard to read because of the size and color of the lettering. This explains my 4 star rating, otherwise it would get 5 stars.

Have been using for about a month. Seems solid and well built. No issues with controls, turn table nor cooking. More powerful than our prior microwave and are getting used to the differences in cooking times and the sensor settings. So far we are glad we made the purchase.

Microwave has good features, functions well and is nice looking. We like the options on the push buttons but are still adjusting to having to push the "set time" button before programming a short cooking time. I am concerned that the turn table will fail as the mechanism is not well made. Otherwise, very happy with microwave and would recommend it. We chose this microwave because it had good reviews, it was the size and finish that we needed; would have preferred white but stainless works.

I purchased this microwave online. It arrived on 4/22/2020. Today it is 6 months old. Over the last week it began making horrible grinding noises as if it's failing. I've also noticed it's cooking things way hotter than they should be in a shorter time frame. There is an awful condensation that builds up between the glass that accumulates with every use and can't be wiped off. I am extremely disappointed in my purchase. I feel ripped off. I contacted GE Customer Service and am awaiting a reply so I sure hope they make it right and replace it.The quality of my GE Profile French Door fridge is far superior than this junk microwave!

We had it shipped and after the first use it started to make noise. Took it back and exchanged it thinking that it had been damaged in transit. The second one made the same noise right off the bat. We returned it the next day to get another brand. Much happier. Will never get another GE microwave.

It barely can be described as functioning, let alone, of good quality. It frequently shuts itself off after only 2-3 minutes of cooking. It occasionally makes a loud noise like a motorcycle starting. When it does cook normally, it's inconsistent. The same item can take 45 seconds or 2 minutes to achieve the same result.

This is the best microwave that I have ever bought! The only cons are the handle to open the door is pretty stiff and the plug is straight making it stick out from the wall further than I like. Otherwise, its great.

This is very similar functionally to a 20 year old unit that finally started to not work as well. The footprint of this is smaller (takes up less counter space) even though it's equivalent space inside. My only complaint is I ordered the black and stainless steel model and it's often hard to read the buttons. I suppose over time I'll get used to where things are and it won't be an issue. Also I had to print out the manual because I had no idea how to work the "vegetables" button. (1 for fresh, 2 for frozen...)

So far, this is a good basic countertop microwave for the price paid. Disappointed that the key pad does not have any backlighting (must turn on lights to read) and the stainless steel is not smudge proof and immediately shows prints.
