Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy, and expensive and you probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

Can't get a straight or consistent answer from GE

Submitted by Zack LA - I've contacted GE several times about the order of install of the two filters, and can't get a straight or consistent answer. I would assume that the carbon impregnated filter would go in downstream from the sediment filter, but the filter install instructions seem to indicate the reverse. Would love an answer, and the repercussions if it is installed in the ge recommended order.

Water tastes great

Submitted by filmer - Been using them for years with no complaints. There are many comments on this site about which filter is installed in the incoming #1 sump. Most say #1 should be Gray and #2 should be Green. Where does this information come from? The package says Green is #1 and so does SmartWater support gal who I just spoke with this morning. She was very jhelpful and checked several sources for the information. I guess I will stick with what she said. Green #1.

Problem with the GE FXSVC Water Filters

Submitted by Extremely frustrated - I have been purchasing theses filters for years. The new filters DO NOT FIT !! Our Water Filtration System is GXSV10C and the FXSVC states that it is the replacement set for this system. However, the recess on the end is not is not as deep as the previous filters purchased with the same model number. This is apparently preventing the filters from seating properly in the casing. Are you aware of this problem and what do you suggest ?????
