I want this unit to work for over a year unlike the previous unit that developed a leak in the evaporate coil. It was no easy process to replace it either. Good luck if yours goes bad.

Worked great for one season and now blows warm air. The camper will be going to the dealer to get it replaced. Luckily GE offers a 2 year warranty which is nice and also surprising since it seems that everyone has problems with them after only one year

Brand new trailer with a 15000 GE AC and its trash

After one year of use maybe used 5 times last year, the AC compressor won't work. after DE winterizing the camper I noticed the AC running but not blowing cold air. I took back to the dealer and they informed me the whole unit needs to be replaced. We are well into the camping season and I have a camper that is useless. I was informed that there is at least a 3 to 4 week lead time on getting a new AC unit. That puts me into July. I was excited to see a GE AC when we picked up the trailer but now I'm having second thoughts.

Stopped blowing cold air after 1 year.

Bought a brand new trailer at the beginning of 2021 and this unit came with it. It worked great last year, now this year it only blows hot air. I have done all the trouble shooting I can think/ research of, and have come to the conclusion that there is either a coolant leak, or the compressor is not working properly. I can not take the trailer to get warranty work done on it, as this is my current permanent residence (waiting on our house to finish being built). So now I am on the hook to replace with another unit, which I just ordered and it is about a month out from receiving it. So I have to deal with the heat right at the peak of the hot season.Do not waste your money on GE products.

GE Air Conditioner 1yr old garbage

We have a GE AC unit on our 2021 Coachman camper complained about it wasn't cold in fall of 2021. Weather cold when RV store looked at it couldn't check. Brought out in spring 2022 AC not working blowing hot Air. We have had it checked by Camper store and they are saying GE needs to look at it but they believe compressor is not working. We are unable to use the ac and with 90 degree days coming we will not be able to camp unless fixed. We paid alot of money for this camper this is unacceptable. needs to be fixed been waiting to hear from RV store on what GE wants to do. They should at least provide portable ac unit until they fix ours. The quality of a product that breaks in what amounts to less than a year is horrible.

We bought our brand new camper in 2021 and it came with this unit. Worked find all summer long, followed all winterizing protocols. Just unwinterized we have a camping tripped plan this weekend, ac blowing warm air. Again checked the manual everything is clean no dirt filters etc. Disappointed. Now we will have to send the camper back to the RV dealer and blow the entire summer of camping away due to long service wait times.

Terrible Product!

We purchased a 2021 RV in March 2021. The camper came with this AC. A few months in, it stopped blowing cold air due to no Freon. Since you can't refill, we had to get it replaced under warranty. Our camper sat at the dealership for 3 months (the whole summer) before we were able to get it replaced. 8 months later, it is not blowing cold air again. Absolutely frustrating! The dealer said that there is no warranty on the replacement and so basically we are on our own due to this faulty product. I do not recommend.

The GE unit came on my 2021 travel trailer purchased in June. Worked great for 4 months. Now it won't cool. Compressor runs but condenser is not getting hot. Evaporator not getting cold. For a company that has been making window units for years, you think they'd have it figured out by now. I think the red flag here is when their only talking point is how stylish the cover looks and it has rubber isolator's to reduce vibration. I think quality components and reliability would be more important.

It does what we want. It cools the air. It is a tad noisy inside due to the fan but it is good. The power surge is there, so careful what appliances you run all at same time. Two downsides. I tried to install a soft start unit and the maker of that doesn't have the wiring specs just yet. And the new design uses a foam shroud, which is good for dampening sound but is not good if you need to mount the soft start to it. I gave up on the soft start for now.

Will this replacement last longer than 9 months?

We bought our brand new travel trailer 19 Dec 2020. By Sept 2021 this AC unit failed. Apparent leak in the system causing the Freon to discharge. Had to replace entire head unit. Fortunately was able to get it replaced under warranty. I'm hoping this doesn't happen again, huge inconvenience. I now have another year warranty to see if this one fails too. My luck it'll happen on day 366.

Cools the trailer quickly without too much noise. The fan with ought AC setting is nice because it provides white noise at night when you don't need cooling. I like it better than the brands we had in previous RV's.

We camped in temperatures above 100 several times this summer. Our GE AC kept us cool and comfortable! The unit over the kitchen area is a bit noisy but I learned to shut that vent to direct cool air to the dining room and bedroom areas.

Very bad A/C. Very loud and can't hear the TV when it is on. When you close the A/C vent on the unit so it will go through the vents, the air barely comes out.

I have a unique perspective in that a unit failed in a new RV. Attempted to go through RV dealership with no returned calls. Called GE directly and spoke to a human on second ring. Amazing! Representative was courteous and helpful from the outset. Emailed me a short list of questions and then resounded in minutes after I returned the questions. Short story is they found a local company that could come to my home and do follow-up. Tech found issues that were best addressed by upper unit swap, which arrived in a few days and was replaced without drama. This unit works perfectly, is quiet, and I highly recommend.

I have to say that like some others on here, ours went belly up after only a few months. Tech says it has leaked the coolant and it needs to be replaced. Been waiting for 2 months for approval from GE support and still waiting for them to ship us a new unit. Our Winnebago is less than a year old. Been a good RV other than this happening.

Purchased a new Keystone Springdale Travel Trailer which came with a GE Air Conditioner. The unit cooled for less than 2 months. Dealer told me the units were a new model that had just came out and said other owners are having the same issue. The units are made in China and may take months to receive a replacement. That was July the 12th.

A little taller than expected

This unit is a little taller the Coleman unit that usually comes on Imagine RVs. We ordered our RV expecting it to come with the shorter unit so we could have backed it under the canopy of our storage unit. Also fan has only high and low mode, no medium settings. Only used it a few times but it keeps our unit cold here in South Louisiana.

Very Short Lifespan

Purchased RV in Oct. 2020. A/C compressor went out in June 2021 & complete unit was replaced. Took about 10 days to get a replacement. August 2021 it stopped cooling, something to do with the Freon. Dealer said it's not repairable and it will take a few days to get ok from GE to replace. Then 3 weeks to get a new one in. We do of our camping/traveling from Sept. to May while school is in session so the original A/C only had 2 or 3 months of use.

The unit worked great for 5 months (3/21 thru 8/21)…..then it went kaput. It appears the refrigerant somehow leaked out but unfortunately there are no service ports to recharge it so I'm now working with my local Winnebago Service Center to get a full warranty replacement. My new RV has been unusable for 1-1/2 months so far, and I do not have an anticipated completion date yet. I am very disappointed in the performance of this GE product.

Words can not describe how disappointed I am with this product and the warranty program. I purchased my brand new Keystone Bullet pull behind trailer with a General Electric AC unit. The AC unit failed one year and 3 months and General Electric told my RV dealer because I didn't buy the extended warranty they were not going to honor the warranty. This is a product that is supposed to last years and I got one year out of mine. If you purchase a RV with one of these units make sure you get the extended warranty or if you have a choose choose a different AC unit.

The temperature cools down very quickly and cycles properly. Only downfall is that it is very loud. However, that may partially be due to our all aluminum RV.
