This thing only worked partially for the first few weeks. Slow and noisy and will not work at all now. Bought it to work in my new Frigidaire fridge. Wish I would™™ve picked a different fridge brand that had a working ice maker option

I have had this ice maker for a few weeks now (I purchased it for my new Frigidaire top-freezer refrigerator), and so far it works well. The installers of my fridge had quite a time trying to get this unit in properly, but once they did, it worked perfectly, and after a few test batches, I had great ice. One thing I am confused about is how to get it to stop making ice for a while so I can use up what it has made. There™™s no sensor arm, and the stapled instructions that came in the box were taken away with the rest of the packaging by the installers before I realized they were gone. This is not a fault with the product, but I wish it were easier to find the answer. The good news is, it really cranks out ice! (If Frigidaire wants to respond to tell me how to turn this type of ice maker off and on, I™™d appreciate it!)

I purchased this ice maker with a top mount freezer refrigerator, it was installed by Lowes delivery, it never produced a single ice cube and was not supported by Lowes, I returned the ice maker and I wound not recommend purchasing this product, design wise, I hate this product, the design seems less than state of the art. My last Fridigdaire refrigerator with ice maker provided good service for 25 years, you need to do better, kindly get your act together

I've had this ice maker for 8 months and the ice still has a funny plastic taste and smell. There are no cleaning instructions, so after research, I've cleaned my freezer and ice maker with a vinegar and warm water solution, and also with baking soda. I have done this 3 times now, and while the ice is much better than the first 3 batches, it still tastes and smells awful. The ice maker itself is working fine, producing ice etc.

I purchased a Frigidaire refrigerator with top mount freezer from Home Depot. The icemaker that was recommended and sent out was not compatible. I was told the compatible one was discontinued. I found one online to purchase. It was installed and would not make ice. The company did not want to take it back because it had been installed even though it did not work. I am having to pay return shipping which does not seem fair considering it was a defective product. When the wrong ice maker was returned to Home Depot the salesman said Frigidaire ice makers do not work. I have invested a lot of time, effort and money on a new refrigerator and still do not have an ice maker. I would not recommend this brand or at the least make sure the refrigerator has the ice maker installed as the kits are expensive junk that Frigidaire should be ashamed of selling.

I have a question about the arm that's shuts off ice maker when full. The arm on my ice maker is always in the UP position. Not sure if that is correct. I am still making ice but will it shut off when the ice Ben is full.

I found out only after getting my fridge that the ice maker was not available. Waited over a month and what I received the IM117000 is a piece of junk. It is slow and makes very small ice cubes using a tray not much bigger than a dollar bill, nowhere near 2lbs a day. I am frustrated that Fridgidaire is charging 153.00 for this product that clearly does not work and they are not listening. The result I am returning the entire fridge and going to GE who still provides the previous style ice maker. Fridgidaire, stop being so cheap!If you are a customer looking for a fridge, be aware of this as if you have more than one person using ice, this will NOT provide what you need.Sellers of this product, I would not be recommending this to my customer and you should be warning your customers who are purchasing a Fridgidaire Fridge that this issue exists.

I originally bought a Fridgidaire IM117000 ice maker for my lFFTR1835VW0 refrigerator. I have had nothing but constant problems and have been through 2 ice makers already. I followed directions and does out the first 3 full bins of ice on both ice makers and after weeks I still have a constant Plastic/ chemical taste and smell. Fridgidaire does not stand by their products or honor warranties. They do not care about the potential health risk involved. They only offer to give you 20% off their already overpriced products. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company and Ice maker!!!!

I bought this IM117000 from lowes. This is the second one I brought home had to return first one. It™™s been installed for 48 hours and made maybe 8 pieces of ice. The water lines have water in them the balance is all the way open. The ice maker barley fills with water. I have checked everything and it still doesn™™t make ice. I paid 899 for the refrigerator model-FFTR2045VS and 125 for the ice maker! What do I do????

It still makes ice, but there are leaks in 3 places that create these icicles that drip into the bin as they are forming and freeze all of the ice in bin together. Started with one leak, now we have 3. Wish I could give it 0 stars.

The ice maker was easy to install and works good for me but it has a flex tray that will probably stop working with in a year or two and then you have to buy a new kit. They need to have a option to buy just the tray for a decent price.

I got a Frigidaire FFHT2045V which apparently takes this icemaker. I thought it took the IM116000 crescent shaped cube icemaker. But the design was changed to this flex tray plastic mold icemaker, which I had over 30 years ago and was awful. Does the IM116000 fit this refrigerator? I looked online and I found IM117000 units that are pictured as crescent shaped cube units and some are not. Was the design changed and does the old model have crescent shaped cubes and that will fit? How can I get the crescent shaped cube icemaker for this refrigerator?

Absolutely ridiculous and inconsistent. This ice maker either produces an absolute ton of ice (nearly overflowing the bucket) or will go days/weeks barely produces a few little pieces.An ice maker shouldn't be this difficult.It should just make ice.

Just bought this fridge and installed the ice maker. A shame to drill into a new fridge after just getting it. Feels outdated already. Using an ice tray seems to old fashioned as well. Directions call for a philips screwdriver but definitely needed something stronger to pierce into the plastic interior of the freezer. Preferred the ice maker with the metal bar as the on off switch.

We have this unit installed in a FFTR1835VB model refrigerator. The ice has begun to have a very funny taste associated with it. We verified the fridge and freezer has no old, open food inside. We emptied the ice bucket and wiped it down. I don't believe this ice maker has a water filter with it so we aren't sure what step to try next and get this bad taste to go away. Thanks for the help!

I purchased the ice maker along with my top freezer refrigerator. The fridge I purchased is great. It has the recessed handles and looks so sleek. I do have an issue with the ice maker. It seems the ice turns into one big ice cube. With a few loose one on top. It makes a lot,of ice. Do I just need to put the ice maker button to off, when bin is particularly full. I don™™t use that much ice. I probably would of been fine with just ice cube trays. But since water line was already there. I figured why not...thanks

It™™s not anything fancy but it makes ice quickly and I LOVE the square design of the ice cubes. The negative is that the ice tends to accumulate toward the back of the tray and easily falls behind the ice bin.

This ice maker was installed a few weeks after the refrigerator was delivered. The installation was quick and easy. The ice maker is solid and produces ample ice. The only drawback is the design in regards to the freezer shelving. Once the ice maker is installed, there is only one possible position for the freezer shelf, making the bottom section quite small.

Received my ice maker kit and I am very pleased. It works great for a two person home. Not sure it would be good for a larger family. The size of the ice cubes are on the small size but compared to my other fridge that did not have an ice maker, I really like it.

I had the ice maker installed by a technician where I purchased the fridge prior to delivery and I think there are parts missing. Example, I do not see a Feeler Arm as described for most ice makers and another post here describes a test/service button. I have a green power button and there appears to be a place beside it where another button might go but there is no button, just a small hole. I have no instructions since they omitted to put them in. If someone can let me know if I am missing these pieces it would be helpful.

We have enjoyed this ice maker in our new fridge! The default setting is programmed to make very small ice cubes (which happens to be our preference), but something to note. It was installed at the time of delivery, and we haven™™t experienced any issues. Overall, definitely recommend!

I just bought a FFHT1425VV beautiful fridge. I wanted an ice maker so I was excited to get the ice maker. However...when it arrived it was missing pieces. Just the clips for the water line but still....I installed the unit and it makes VERYsmall ice cubes. There are no directions in how to increase or adjust cube size. Even if they did...the tray has small capacity. Frigidaire support is non existent. Wish this freezer was compatible with the older style cube maker which makes large cubes for half the cost
