Did not fit right

It fit like the o ring was too small. It let the rinse aid liquid leak out. And tonight when I was starting the washer the CAP fell off into the washer. On both sides of the cap the edges were cracked off and when I rubbed my finger around they crumbled. Looked like it had gotten to hot and the plastic was too cheap and just crumbled. that cap only lasted 21/2 years. Should I buy them by the dozen? Do they always crumble like that. I figure I will need About 6 more in my life. The Cap, Tax, AND Shipping will cost $130.92 at todays prices. Thanks for letting me vent. You have a good day.
